Title: “Stop sufficing with Google! Advanced literature searching to find the best available evidence”

Animal Health Sciences Librarian, Washington State University

Suzanne Fricke is the Animal Health Sciences Librarian at Washington State University’s Pullman campus, where she provides reference, instruction, collection development and clinical informationist services for the College of Veterinary Medicine. She is past-chair of the Animal and Veterinary Information Specialist Caucus of the Medical Library Association.

Prior to obtaining a Master of Library and Information Science Degree from the University of Washington iSchool she worked in private veterinary practice for 17 years. She completed the IHTSDO SNOMED CT Foundational and Content Development Courses, the National Library of Medicine Biomedical Informatics Short Course, and the American Medical Informatics Association OHSU 10×10 Introduction to Biomedical and Health Informatics Course.

This session will provide an introduction to library resources and services, identify information literacy standards and assessment, explore common information behaviors, and leave you with practical steps to search and evaluate health science literature.
