Systematic Review Series: Virtual Workshop 2

Registration is now open for the second of four stand-alone virtual workshops in the Systematic Review Series, hosted by the WSU College of Medicine’s Collaboration for Interprofessional Health Education Research & Scholarship (CIPHERS) initiative. Workshop #2 will be presented by Medical Librarian Suzanne Fricke, DVM, MLIS.

A comprehensive and systematic search of the literature is needed to minimize bias and determine the best evidence to answer a question. PRISMA 2020 guidelines call for authors to report all information sources and full search strategies for all databases. This session will help you identify relevant databases, develop or review search strategies that use controlled vocabulary, keywords, and Boolean Operators, and export results to review software.

Participants will be able to:

1. Identify accessible databases and gray literature resources relevant to your research question
2. Translate your research question into a comprehensive and reproducible search strategy using both controlled subject terms and natural language
3. Export database search results to review management software.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements of the ACCME. The Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine is accredited by ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The COM designates this live activity for a maximum of 3 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
