Staff Council

The Staff Council is the representative body for the staff of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine. The members of the committee serve as a liaison between the staff and administration. The administration includes the Dean, Vice Deans, Associate and Assistant Deans, and the Dean’s College Executive Cabinet.

The Staff Council elects members to standing committees and the Staff Council Executive Committee (SCEC).

Purpose

The Staff Council shall contribute to the success of the college through promotion of a positive and supportive work environment that fosters staff welfare. Along with the college Faculty and Student Councils, the Staff Council operates within the college to enhance open communication and ongoing dialogue among staff and between staff and administration. 

The Staff Council is a consultative and deliberative body authorized to make recommendations to the college Dean on all matters having a significant bearing on the staff working environment, including staff representation to college assemblies (e.g., committees, task forces, working groups, etc.) that deal with topics that impact staff.

Staff Council represents and serves all Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine staff. We value the ideas, experiences, and perspectives that strengthen our community. Staff are invited to participate in monthly 45-minute meetings, offered both virtually and in person, that alternate between listening sessions and presentations or workshops focused on well-being and professional development.
