Leila Harrison elevated to new role as Vice Dean for Admissions, Student Affairs, and Alumni Engagement

Leila Harrison

Dr. Leila Harrison has been elevated to a new role as Vice Dean for Admissions, Student Affairs, and Alumni Engagement.

Since joining the college in January 2017, Dr. Harrison has led the development of key units and processes to successfully recruit and matriculate all six cohorts of medical students. In this newly expanded role, she will have executive oversight of recruitment and admissions for the MD program, NEP and SHS graduate programs, the new MHAL program, and the ethics certificate. In addition, she will continue to oversee student affairs for the MD program, which will gradually expand to include NEP and SHS, as well as lead the college’s alumni engagement efforts across all degree-granting departments and programs. Her leadership in developing intentional, mission-aligned admissions processes using holistic review followed by supporting students via holistic student affairs will now include the third critical step of providing strategic support for our alumni to effectively fulfill our college’s mission.

Dr. Harrison will now oversee the renamed Office of Admissions, Student Affairs, and Alumni Engagement (OASAAE) that will serve applicants, students, and/or alumni across all degree-granting programs. This model demonstrates the far-reaching impact of this new office.

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Harrison on this outstanding and well-earned achievement. Read the full announcement here.
