Second-year medical student Xiang Yu “Vincent” Gao presented two posters at the American College of Physicians Internal Medicine Meeting 2025 in New Orleans, Louisiana. His projects were chosen from more than 1,000 submissions to the conference’s 31st Annual Medical Student Member Abstract Competition.

Gao presented “Chemotherapy in Pregnancy: A Case of Thyroblastoma With Long-Term Prognosis,” a rare report on chemotherapy use during pregnancy, and “NUT Carcinoma: Pulmonary Malignancy With No Smoking History,” a case that underscores the need for greater awareness and early detection of rare cancers. Both posters were co-authored by Jessica Heliver, MD, from Cancer Care Northwest in Spokane.
