Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine second-year medical student Harkirat Minhas was recently elected to serve as the western region chair for the Organization of Student Representatives (OSR), an Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) affiliated group which represents medical students nationwide.
In this leadership role, she attended the 2025 AAMC Western Group on Educational Affairs (WGEA), Group on Student Affairs (WGSA), and the Western OSR (WOSR) Joint Regional Conference. During the conference, she successfully led the OSR programming, coordinating discussions and sessions that highlighted key student issues and priorities across the region.
This marks a continued trajectory of leadership for Harkirat, who previously served as the western region delegate for OSR during the past academic year. Her growing involvement reflects a deep commitment to medical education, student advocacy, and collaborative leadership within the AAMC community.
