MD Student Hardeep Tiwana Presents at National Otolaryngology Conference

Two individuals stand on either side of a large red sculpture featuring the letters “AAO-HNSF” at a convention or trade show. The background shows a spacious exhibition hall with bright overhead lighting, multiple booths, and hanging signs displaying company names and booth numbers.

Hardeep Tiwana, a third-year medical student at the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, presented multiple research abstracts at the 2025 American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS) Annual Meeting in Indianapolis.

Tiwana cited invaluable peer guidance from Douglas Nanu, MS4, and faculty support from their mentor, Michele Carr, MD, a professor at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, for making the project possible.

“Presenting at a national conference like AAO-HNS as a third-year student was an incredible opportunity,” Tiwana said. “It’s a testament to the power of mentorship and has solidified my commitment to contributing to a field that is constantly innovating for better patient care.”

Congratulations to Tiwana and Nanu for representing WSU with such distinction!
