Community Faculty Member Katina Rue Honored as Alma Mater Alum of the Year

Kansas City University has recognized Katina Rue, DO, FAAFP, a community faculty member in the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, as Alumna of the Year in recognition of her exceptional contributions to medicine and the broader community.

Dr. Rue graduated from the KCU College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. In the past two decades, her accomplishments include:

  • Advocate for the profession representing Washington family physicians at the AAFP Congress of Delegates and serving as chair of the Assembly of Osteopathic Graduate Medical Educators
  • First osteopathic physician to serve as president of the Washington State Medical Association
  • Clinical faculty at all three Washington medical schools and former program director for family medicine and osteopathic education
  • Actively involved on local, state, and regional boards advancing health equity and mentoring emerging leaders in health care
