Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine faculty are representing the college through national leadership roles at the American Association of Medical College’s (AAMC) Group on Student Affairs, which aims to advance student services throughout students’ time in medical school.
The Group on Student Affairs includes committees in the areas of admissions, student affairs, student diversity affairs, student financial assistance, and student records.
Assistant Dean of Student Affairs Lisa Burch-Windrem, EdD, MEd, has been appointed as the Committee on Student Affairs (COSA) Western Region Liaison. COSA serves as the group’s leadership and advisory committee, guiding national initiatives on medical student well-being, career advising, professional development, and the transition to residency.
Disability Resource Professional Ranna Nash, PhD, has been appointed as the Western Group on Student Affairs (WGSA) Representative to the Student Opportunities, Access, and Retention (SOAR) Committee. SOAR work ensure all medical students have an equal opportunity to thrive at AAMC member medical schools.
