Washington State University subscribes to some journals through aggregators such as ClinicalKey and EBSCO MEDLINE Complete, rather than directly through the publisher. Examples include Critical Care Clinics and other Clinics of North America titles, American Family Physician (AFP), Journal of the American Pharmacists Association, Clinical Pediatric Emergency Medicine, and many others.
As a result, you may encounter a publisher paywall when trying to access articles directly from a journal’s website, even while on campus, and the publisher may not offer a mechanism to connect you with WSU subscriptions.
To improve access, we strongly recommend installing the LibKey Nomad browser extension on your laptop or desktop. In most cases, LibKey Nomad will recognize available WSU subscriptions and provide direct links to full text, or enable interlibrary loan by linking to a WSU catalog record.
Please note that LibKey Nomad does not function on mobile devices (iPads) or on some society journal web sites like AAFP. In this case consider the following alternatives:
- Search for the article in the WSU Library Catalog or in Google Scholar configured with links to WSU full-text access.
- Search directly within ClinicalKey or EBSCO MEDLINE Complete.
