Temporal dynamics of oligodendroglia in health and disease
Sept. 9, 2025
12:10 – 1:00 p.m. PDT
SAC 347 or via Zoom
Meeting ID: 953 4043 7649
Passcode: 164811
Speaker: Erin Gibson, PhD
Assistant Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine
Dr. Gibson’s lab focuses on understanding how oligodendroglial cells modulate neural circuits throughout development and in brain disorders, with a focus on the intersection between sleep/circadian and glial biology in disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, multiple sclerosis, and Alzheimer’s disease. By using in vivo mouse and patient-derived iPSC models, the Gibson lab aims to understand the intrinsic molecular drivers and cell-cell interactions that regulate myelin dynamics throughout life, with the ultimate goal of finding therapeutic strategies to maintain myelin health.
