Faculty Development
Faculty development has been instrumental in strengthening my role as an educator and in supporting other educators. It has helped me improve the clarity of assignment and grading expectations, ensuring students and graders alike understand what success looks like. Through structured sessions and shared resources, I’ve been able to coordinate effectively with part-time and often distributed or asynchronous faculty, aligning grading expectations and rationales. These efforts have also been critical for delivering clear, engaging trainings to graders, while maintaining detailed historical records of how assignments were explained and approached. Altogether, faculty development provides the foundation for consistency, transparency, and continuous improvement across our courses. This team is responsive, knowledgeable, and just plain fun to work with!

The Office for Continuing Faculty Development has provided a valuable space for me to engage with fellow educators, learn innovative strategies for enhancing content delivery, and deepen my understanding of challenges facing our students and community. Through sessions focused on professional growth, I’ve gained insights and tools to support my development as an educator. In particular, participating in the Educator Academy allowed me to dedicate focused time to develop a workshop related to my area of interest. Additionally, it has been a great way to earn continuing medical education credits that are applicable to my work and interests.
