The Curriculum Unit oversees the development, revision, and implementation of the MD program curriculum to ensure students meet the core competencies required to succeed as a physician.
Our team works closely with the Office of Assessment, Evaluation, and Curriculum Management to maintain alignment among program objectives, course objectives, and learning objectives and to ensure instruction and assessment align with these objectives across all four years of the program and at each regional medical campus.
We work with faculty to develop session content and schedules for an appropriate sequencing of educational activities and ensure classroom space, technology, and other resources are available for effective curriculum delivery. The unit also coordinates with Student Affairs to communicate curricular content revisions and schedule changes to students.
Our digital publishing team collaborates with faculty to create engaging learning materials as part of the program’s digital curriculum, reducing the cognitive load so that students can spend their mental energy on learning the principles of medical and scientific knowledge.
