The WSU Elson S Floyd College of Medicine supported my dream to become a pediatrician from the start and provided me a solid foundation of knowledge and clinical opportunities to flourish as a pediatric resident! My pediatric experiences started in the classroom with case-based learning and extended to the clinic with many days precepting with an outpatient pediatrician during my clinical campus weeks. During my clinical years I was exposed to many pediatric subspecialities both in the hospital and community practice setting. I feel very fortunate to have received such a high level of education and exceptional clinical training at WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine.

My pediatric education at WSU has prepared me extremely well to take care of Washington’s children. I have had a vast variety of experiences from rural primary care, community hospitals, children’s hospitals (both community and more academic-focused), and even simulation! These experiences have been incredibly rewarding and allowed me to learn what challenges our children and families in Washington face from many different perspectives. I have also found ample opportunities for mentorship in pediatric advocacy, education, and research from our faculty!”
