Here are recent promotional updates in the college:

David Aufdencamp has been promoted to the role of Associate Designated Institutional Official of Graduate Medical Education. In this expanded role, he will serve as a key member of the GME leadership team; manage the development and implementation of comprehensive programs that result in accreditation; lead the strategy to enhance GME programs; and work with health system leaders, department chairs, program directors, and program administrators to monitor and enhance the quality of GME programs. Further, he will oversee the GME administrative enterprise to support an optimal learning environment for all programs and develop systems for demonstrating excellence.

Dr. Lonika Sood, Clinical Educational Director, Internal Medicine, has been appointed to the additional role of Acting Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education effective July 1. In this additional role she will be responsible for building relationships within the residency programs and supporting the MD-GME continuum, as well as working closely with the Internal Medicine Residency Program–Everett to support continuing faculty professional development. A practicing internal medicine physician for 10 years, Dr. Sood serves as Chair of the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee, is a member of the WSU Faculty Senate, and is nationally active in the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine and the AAMC Western Group on Educational Affairs. Since 2018, Dr. Sood has been actively involved in the creation of educational programming, advising and faculty development for internal medicine at the college.
