The WSU College of Medicine’s Graduate Medical Education (GME) team was selected to give two presentations at an upcoming national rural GME conference.

The RTT Collaborative Annual Meeting is happening April 10-12 in Asheville, North Carolina. It is a gathering of rural educators and providers that have a common goal — to improve the health of rural communities with advancement in medical education.

WSU GME will present the following:

  • “Meeting the Needs of Washingtonians – Training Internal Medicine Residents in Rural Washington through Program Development and Rural Rotations” – David Aufdencamp, Matthew Hansen, Jessica Wells
  • “One Year Later – Lessons Learned from Starting a Family Medicine Residency Program in a Rural Critical Access Hospital” – Stephen Hall, David Aufdencamp, Molly Thompson, Jessica Wells

David Aufdencamp, MBA, Designated Institutional Official, says he is grateful for the collaboration to improve the health of Washingtonians and the opportunity to share our story on the national stage.
