The answer might be easier than you think.
Hans Van Dongen, PhD, professor and director of the WSU Sleep and Performance Research Center, is quoted in a recent HuffPost UK article on battling that dreaded 3:00 p.m. work slump. He says, despite a common belief, it’s likely not related to eating lunch but instead is caused by not getting enough sleep.
His solution? Stand up.
“The moment you stand, you’ll feel that pressure for sleepiness less strongly,” Von Dongen said. He added that activating “anti-gravitational” muscles will perk your brain up.
