Family Medicine Residency Faculty Earn AAFP Degree of Fellow

Molly Thompson, MD, and Brenna Harris, DO, were awarded the AAFP Degree of Fellow during the FMX Conference in September.

Congratulations to two faculty members in the WSU Family Medicine Residency Program who received the Degree of Fellow through the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP). Molly Thompson, MD, FAAFP, associate program director, and Brenna Harris, DO, FAAFP, core faculty, were awarded the degree in September during the FMX Conference, the AAFP’s premier event for family medicine.

The Degree of Fellow recognizes AAFP members who have distinguished themselves among their colleagues, as well as in their communities, by their service to family medicine. AAFP fellows are recognized as the champions of family medicine.

Criteria for receiving the AAFP Degree of Fellow consist of a minimum of six years of membership in the organization, extensive continuing medical education, participating in public service programs outside medical practice, conducting original research, and serving as a teacher in family medicine.

Thompson and Harris help train WSU family medicine resident physicians at the Family Medicine Residency Center at Pullman Regional Hospital. Both are also passionate about treating patients in the rural community.
