Register for Health Services Research Roundtable: Trust in Public Health and Medicine

Scenic view of downtown Spokane in autumn, featuring a tree-lined riverfront park with vibrant fall foliage. A red-roofed clock tower stands near the river, with bridges and walking paths crossing the water. City buildings and a large tent-like structure are visible in the background under a partly cloudy sky.

Join us for a timely conversation on trust in public health and medicine across our region. The Health Services Research Roundtable “Trust in Public Health and Medicine: Challenges and Solutions” will take place on Tuesday, October 28 at 4:00–6:00 p.m. in the Wolff Auditorium at Gonzaga University. RSVP online for this in-person, catered event by October 21.

Five community leaders will unpack today’s public perceptions, why skepticism grows, and how it affects our communities. Hear what’s building (and eroding) trust, where gaps remain, and what’s working now. Leave with practical communication strategies and key scientific updates to counter misinformation and strengthen trust in your work and daily life.

Objectives

  • Describe current challenges to trust in public health and medicine in our region and identify at least one gap or call to action
  • Identify at least two reasons for skepticism or hesitancy in accepting public health or medical interventions within our community
  • Identify at least two key scientific advances or practical communication strategies for addressing misinformation or disinformation about interventions or treatments in public health or medicine
