Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine Class of 2022 graduate Erin Kaya, MD, was named chief resident Oregon Health Science University’s (OHSU) Department of Radiation Medicine.
Multiple WSU medical students have completed rotations with the department, exploring careers in radiation oncology.
Class of 2025 graduates Logan Patterson, MD, and Eemon Tizpa, MD, rotated with Dr. Kaya as fourth-year students and later matched into radiation oncology at OHSU for residency.
“Without Dr. Kaya, I would not have even known where to start when trying to match into the very niche specialty,” Dr. Patterson said on Match Day. “Her guidance was instrumental to me understanding the specialty and eventually successfully matching.”
