Medical students at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine bring the same dedication and commitment to excellence to athletics as they do to medicine.
Nine students competed in this summer’s IRONMAN 70.3 Coeur d’Alene, an endurance race that includes a 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and 13.1-mile run.
Ellie Snyder, Lea Wolf, and Jenna Gizzi participated as individual competitors. Each finished the race in under eight hours, well under the national average of 12–13 hours.
Two relay teams also competed in the event, both finishing in under seven hours. Team Sympathetic Chain Gang included Phoebe Donaldson, Kyle Warbis, and Kevin Guitron. Team Theogs consisted of Omri Ganzarski, Sydney Wilcox, and Gina Leete.
