SPOKANE, Wash.—More than a hundred members of the Class of 2025 walked across the stage Saturday at the First Interstate Center for the Arts in downtown Spokane as they were awarded degrees in Medicine, Nutrition and Exercise Physiology (NEP), and Speech and Hearing Sciences (SHS).

This year the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine graduated 142 students, awarding 70 MD degrees, 23 undergraduate and graduate NEP degrees, and 49 undergraduate SHS degrees. The college’s second class of internal medicine residents will graduate in June, another milestone in our work to improve access to health care across the state.

This year’s WSU Spokane Commencement Ceremony marked the second time the College of Medicine has participated in a joint ceremony with the colleges of Nursing and Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The ceremony also included several students who completed graduate degrees in Prevention Science, Molecular Biosciences, Education, and Criminal Justice and Criminology at the Spokane campus.

The newly minted grads are among more than 4,000 WSU students graduating this spring in commencement ceremonies across the state.

In addition to the campus-wide commencement ceremony, College of Medicine graduates were honored in programmatic commencement celebrations on Friday. Celebrations for MD, NEP, and SHS students created a more intimate atmosphere for students, families, and program faculty and staff to connect and celebrate student accomplishments through award presentations and speeches from leadership.

Please join us in congratulating the next generation of health care leaders as they embark on the next step of their journey!
