A new high-level report celebrating Washington State University’s impact over the past year highlighted the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and WSU Health, the university’s new academic health network.

The launch of WSU Health and the community-based Logan Family Clinic in Spokane headlined the section about WSU’s academic enterprise. The initiative integrates clinical care, student training, and research across the university’s health sciences colleges while bringing healthcare services to local communities.

The report also highlighted the WSU College of Medicine’s 10-year anniversary last year, celebrating a decade of homegrown healthcare. To date, the college has graduated more than 1,000 health professionals, and 62.5% of MD program alumni who have entered practice are now practicing in Washington.

In research news, a study from the college’s Department of Nutrition and Exercise Physiology on the benefits of elderberry juice for metabolic health and weight management made the list of WSU’s top research by media reach.

We look forward to another year of impactful academic, research, and clinical initiatives!
