We’re Excited to Welcome You to the WSU Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine!

Welcome Week is designed to help you transition to the first year of medical school, familiarize you with the College of Medicine and campus resources and allow opportunities to make meaningful connections with your peers, faculty and staff. Welcome Week culminates with your White Coat Ceremony and your official welcome into the profession of medicine. We look forward to seeing you.

White Coat Ceremony

Directions to WSU Spokane

412 E. Spokane Falls Blvd., Spokane, WA 99202

From Spokane International Airport

  • Proceed on Airport Drive, which will snake its way away from the airport.
  • Airport Drive will merge onto U.S. Highway 2, also known as the Sunset Highway.
  • Continue on U.S. Highway 2 until it curves and merges with I-90.
  • Continue on I-90 through downtown Spokane and take the Hamilton Street Exit.
  • You will curve around and over I-90 and come down a bridge to a stoplight.
  • Turn left at the light onto Spokane Falls Blvd.
  • You’ll drive over the Spokane River and run directly into campus. You can turn right onto Riverpoint Blvd., or continue on Spokane Falls Blvd. as you find an on-campus parking lot.

From I-90, heading east

  • Proceed on I-90 toward Spokane.
  • Take the Hamilton Street Exit.
  • You will curve around and over I-90 and come down a bridge to a stoplight.
  • Turn left at the light onto Spokane Falls Blvd.
  • You’ll drive over the Spokane River and run directly into campus. You can turn right onto Riverpoint Blvd., or continue on Spokane Falls Blvd. as you find an on-campus parking lot.

Parking

Parking on campus will be free during Welcome Week.

On Welcome Week Days (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday morning) please dress in business casual attire (slacks, khakis, skirts, button-down shirts, etc. No ties or suits necessary).

For the All-Campus New Student Orientation on Wednesday, dress is casual.

For the White Coat Ceremony, please dress in business casual, for this is a professional program. For men, the most common form of dress is a shirt and tie. A suit/sports coat is not necessary since you will be putting on your White Coat. For women, the most common form of dress is a dress or skirt/slacks and blouse.

The White Coat Ceremony signifies the beginning of a student doctor’s journey as a medical professional.
