Student Representative Opportunities

A variety of leadership opportunities exist within the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, including serving as a student representative on college committees. These are tremendous opportunities to work with faculty, staff, and fellow students to assist in formulating policy, developing services, supporting students, and representing the College of Medicine to external constituencies. In order to allow for broad representation and access to leadership development, students are limited to serve on only one committee or subcommittee at a time.

To serve on college committees, students must be in good academic standing and are expected to uphold the professionalism code of conduct outlined in the student handbook.

Selection for student representatives is a process that Student Affairs oversees, while some committees run their own selections. Generally, new opportunities are posted each spring, though a few opportunities may arise throughout the year.

If you have further questions about being a student representative, please contact Student Affairs at medicine.studentaffairs@wsu.edu.
