Alex Franke, MD
Medical School: Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine.
Residency Program and Specialty: University of Utah, Emergency Medicine.
What led to your decision to pursuing a fellowship in critical care medicine? I was interested in working in a specialty where I can form deeper connections with my patients and their loved ones, and where I can deepen my knowledge of medicine and physiology.
What achievement are you most proud of to date? I’m proud of the balance I found in residency. In my three years of residency I skied 400 days, was elected chief resident, learned a ton about medicine and most importantly, I provided great care to my patients and hopefully made them feel cared for and listened to.
Hobbies and interests outside of medicine: Skiing, biking, running, climbing, cooking, reading and watching soccer.
