Curriculum

Our fellowship in critical care medicine offers a rigorous and immersive training experience designed for physicians who are passionate about caring for the most critically ill patients.  

As a subspecialty of internal medicine, critical care focuses on the diagnosis, management, and prevention of life-threatening complications in patients requiring intensive monitoring and advanced organ support.

Core Rotations Over 24 Months 

The two-year fellowship includes a diverse range of high-acuity clinical experiences, including: 

  • Medical intensive care 
  • Medical intensive care procedures  
  • Medical intensive care night medicine  
  • Neurological intensive care  
  • Surgical and post trauma intensive care  
  • Cardiovascular intensive care  
  • Airway management  
  • Point of care ultrasound  
  • Echocardiography  

Customized Learning through Specialty Rotations 

Fellows will also have an opportunity to complete customized specialty rotations including anesthesia, infectious disease, nephrology, and palliative care. Additional educational opportunities will be created as needed to augment fellows’ specific interests and educational needs.
